Dan is a great supporter of Dunmore, both in his personal and professional capacities. He moved his business to Dunmore in 1998, and has since created and partnered in several new business ventures. He donates time to community groups and business owners in addition to his Council duties.

Highlights:
donated labour and materials to countless projects, and he liaises between community members to help make new connections and exchange services.
Dan and Alva Hamilton have participated in community efforts to help children. For example, they helped collect stuffed animals for the Medicine Hat Health Foundation.
Has been involved in Cypress County's efforts to support local businesses. These efforts include workforce development, housing, and commercial interests.
Dan, through his work with Cypress County has collaborated with educational institutions, such as Medicine Hat College, to offer work experience to college students.
Through his work at Cypress County, Dan has also worked with Verge Economic Development, a regional economic driver, to support local businesses.
Worked with Cypress View Foundation (regional partnership) as a Board Member which helps low income seniors over 60 attain housing
Dan is a great supporter of HALO and was instrumental in working at municipal and provincial levels to secure funding

Mentor for the Dunmore Community Association Executive and Board of Directors.
Attends >80% of DCA Board Meetings to keep abreast of Dunmore's recreational plans and gives regular direction for navigating permitting and approval processes.
Promotes the DCA publicly on many occasions, including our EDF Outdoor Recreation Centre grand opening ceremony
Donated his personal time to visit rink work site, vet contractors, and give guidance and advice
Was main Council advocate for getting $50,000 approved to revitalize the old West Side Park in Dunmore
Donated bounce attractions for community events
Advocated hard for the walking trail all around Dunmore - was completed in 2020
